Nice, but not perfect – Robert G. Scott –
I have this set for a gift and I'm quite satisfied. You can really capture some great shots and incredible detail. My only complaint is that it feels cheap and that the autofocus is hit or miss.
When I say that it feels cheap, I mean that is very simple, transparent plastic, and you can hear parts shaking a bit '. The adjustment of the lens and the camera is not smooth as I like to have. I often feel like something is about to shoot when I try to align the tubes with the otheror the camera / lens. I am also not a ton of confidence that my 200mm lens is safe enough to have more than the small tube. I totally take them off when I go to only move from one place to another. Even walking around the little bounce 'out seems like it might be too much to handle for the plastic on this set. The last thing I want is to fall for my goal expensive because it is too difficult to sustain the extension tube. There are certainly some SAG, if I have aGoal for long, and all three parts of the series on.
By the way, with all three parts of the … If you forget about auto-focus. With a section, you can autofocus on 1 / 3 of the time. With two sections, is about 1 / 8 or so, and all three, almost never. I know that the depth of field is very narrow, so that distance between you and need the right person, but I still rarely autofocus to work, even if I use a tripod andkeep everything just so …
Yet, I met some great shots, and my expectations were not super high, so I'm happy.
not the quality I expected – Mike – San Diego
I am not a "Pro" but I have much experience with using extension tubes for macro photography with my old Nikonos underwater cameras, but These cameras do not have the complicated electronics, the new digital SLR's have. Opteka These tubes seem to be a relatively new product, and I hoped they were of good quality that I use a macro lens instead of buying expensive jewelry photography.
There was only a "5-star review," when I ordered thisfor my Nikon D5000 (18-105 lens). I tried to find more, but that was all I had to go further, and I decided to try it out.
In an attempt, looked at the research, go to the website and showing a clear Opteka Opteka product with "Made in Japan", and I assumed that if they were manufactured.
Not deceive you! Will! When I received the box, "said Made in China".
They are very light and was usually made of plastic and my first impression is thatwell done and a bit 'hard to get on and off the camera.
Then I tried and I was always a "mistake" on camera told me to turn it off and on again. I tried many times, and I took off too, and put it back several times to make sure that I had connected properly, but only one of them worked from 3 tubes, and the autofocus does not work with that. (I was expecting, but use the manual focus, so that was not a big problem for mebut the auto focus is to work with them) The other two do not seem compatible with the electronic camera and does not work at all. I do not think it was everything I had done wrong in predicting them, since I have to work one of them.
47th Street Photo refunded my money (less shipping), so I have not had a problem with them, but it cost the shipment and the time and effort to get them and return them.
I do not write to normalcould be reviews, especially critical reviews, but this is the worst I have ever ordered online product. I feel like I should post this negative review, because it is now published two "5-star reviews and I wanted my honest opinion on which to balance. I understand that the products are not perfect and maybe I have a set that was broken, but I was also disappointed with the feeling and the overall quality of the product. Maybe other people will be happy with them, but after this experienceI end up buying a macro lens, after all. It will not be made by the "Opteka is!
Excellent product and quality at the right price. – J. wheeler – NYC
I bought the Opteka AF extension tube set for my husband as a gift for research. The set has produced spectacular images over and over again. I can say I'm extremely pleased with the result and happy to recommend this product Opteka brand every day! This label must be followed and gives the competition run for their money!
