This goal is a great buy if you want to go cheap. But to say in general that I had saved money for a decent lens for the camera. I have the Nikon D40x, and I would have waited to buy a genuine Nikon lens with auto focus and image stabilizer.
The Opteka 500 mm you need lots of light (very light). You also need a stable platform (tri-or monopod) and patience. He takes his time and energy to work properly with this objective and to produce clear images. If you're a weekend bird watchers whoapproach taken, for a goal or prepared, a lot of blurred images for each decent.
